The Truth is plain and simple, yes it’s fairly black and white
For us to know the difference and to choose the path of right
But Satan with his bag of tricks comes strolling on the way
And presents a pair of glasses through which we see just shades of gray
Our anguish and pain that follow are in contrast very mild
Compared to that of God see this inflicted on His child
Then time to time Satan will try to take us hard to task
Reminding us of shameful deeds and failures of our past
He keeps us bound with the intent of thwarting God’s great plan
But finds out soon he has no claim before the Son of Man
So we’re called to live in freedom by God’s Spirit that does indwell
And tell Satan of his future and that he sure can go to hell
But no matter what we tell him, he’s as persistent can be
And when our fight gets weary, then it’s better just to flee
He preys on our emotion and he guilts us for the “pain”
That’s caused to those around us as we go against the grain
Fear not for what others may think, be right by God alone
For popular votes don’t count for much and far too error prone
But it’s the nature of the Devil to deceive and cloud your mind
And to keep you second guessing with sown doubt, and vision blind
But believe in your stand for it did come from up above
In the form of Godly counsel from the ones who dearly love
And from Scriptures that you read to the prayers that you have prayed
The Holy Spirit then moved you to the decision that you made
So live not in the regret of what things could or may have been
For no matter where we stand the grass across appears more green
We’re taught to fully trust in God and on His Wisdom lean
And live in life abundant, seeing the power of the Unseen
Yet if there be a stumble, have no shadow of a doubt
For the Grace of God still covers all both within and without
A time will come when we will learn to sift through all the noise
And hone in on that whisper that is our Master’s Voice
He is our Friend forever and is there at every call
Beside us in our journey, like He was before the Fall
And if we listen closely, there concealed from those on Earth
Find deep within that whisper, undertones of His great mirth!
