As I rise up each morning I get a fresh start
From the sunlight that streams in that drives out the dark
Of yesterdays failures and its shortcomings
For new days are gifted for new beginnings

When my Savior steps in, in the guise of a friend
As I tuck in the day while evening draws nigh
I’m bathed in the glow of a glimmering light
When a glance at the sky turns all doubt to sheer awe
As I sit still and know that He forever is God
Then I thank Him for night which gives way to the morn
And a rekindled hope with the promise of dawn
Which plants in my heart the root of this song
For Tomorrow will be what I write this Praise on:
In days of turmoil I will find peace and rest
In the knowledge that You really know what is best
And deep in my heart this new song I will sing
For my hope is in You, in what tomorrow will bring
There will be days when things turn out just great
And there may come days I resign to my fate
There will be some about which I’m not sure
Some that delight, and then some that I fear
But the best ones are those when I feel You so close
Despite circumstance when I need You the most
Be it storms or the calm You just carry me through
Knowing You’re my God and that it really is You!
Though the journey be hard from the wounds and the scars
They shape my understanding of who You really are
These are the very best gifts of Life’s days
For they stir my soul to bring You high praise
